Roof windows in Teignmouth
Teignmouth’s seafront and town centre are full of tall Georgian, Regency and Victorian houses, many split into flats with rooms tucked into the roof. Those top floors are often dark and hot in summer, and a well-placed roof window with a blind makes a real difference to them.
Further up the hill and out towards Bishopsteignton, the homes are newer, and plenty of them have roof windows that are now well past their best. Sitting right on the mouth of the Teign, roofs here take the weather straight off the sea, so a properly flashed window is the difference between a dry room and a stain on the ceiling.
Whether it is a replacement for a misted, draughty old unit, new windows for a loft room or blinds for a top-floor flat, we can help anywhere in Teignmouth, and across the river in Shaldon too.

Salt air and wind-driven rain off the sea are hard on Teignmouth roofs. Rusted fixings, slipped slates, cracked ridges and tired chimney flashings are the jobs we see most, especially on the older properties near the seafront.
Much of the town centre and seafront is a conservation area, so on period buildings we repair like for like in natural slate and traditional lead, using corrosion-resistant fixings and the right weight of lead for exposed positions.

Mark and his team installed two Velux windows for us back in December 2022 and we couldn't be happier with the result and frankly wouldn't consider looking for anyone else should we ever need more windows or work doing to our roof.
Their pricing was competitive and they turned up when promised and despite working in very frosty conditions, managed to install the windows without need for scaffolding which clearly saved on cost. They clearly know their stuff and were very professional throughout. Highly recommended.
Exceptional experience with this family run business, great communication and work of a high quality, I have complete trust in Mark and his team, I won't be going anywhere else for my Roofing needs and fully recommend them.

Mark and his family team replaced our roof and rebuilt our chimney last summer. They were great to have around, worked efficiently, happily and tidily. The heavy rains and wind over the winter provided a great test of the roof and it passed with flying colours. The lead work on the valleys and chimney is extremely well done. The house had always had a slight residual smell of damp which has now gone. Highly recommended!
Teignmouth roofing and roof window questions
Do roofs near the sea need anything different?
They benefit from it. Salt air corrodes cheap fixings and thin lead quickly, so on Teignmouth’s seafront roofs we use stainless or copper fixings and heavier lead where the roof is exposed.
Can you fit a roof window in a flat in a converted townhouse?
Yes. Plenty of Teignmouth’s period houses are now flats. If the building has a freeholder or management company, check with them first, and we are happy to provide the details they need.
Do you cover Shaldon and Bishopsteignton?
Yes. We work across Teignmouth and the villages around the estuary, including Shaldon and Bishopsteignton.
