Why do slates keep slipping on my Victorian house?
Usually it is nail fatigue: the original iron nails rust through after many decades. A few slates can be refixed, but if it is happening across the roof, a re-roof is often the better long-term answer.
Do I need planning permission for a roof window in Newton Abbot?
Most roof windows on houses are allowed under permitted development, but there are limits, and the rules are tighter in conservation areas and on listed buildings. We will tell you if you need to check with Teignbridge District Council before we start.
Can you replace an old roof window without damaging my ceiling?
